Data Deletion & Data Safety

Last updated: July 31, 2026

You can delete your data at any time, directly in the app or by uninstalling it. Because SpendVault stores everything on your device and never on our servers, deletion is immediate and complete — no account or request needed.

1. How to delete your data

You have full control over your data. There are two easy ways to remove it:

Option A — Delete from within the app

  1. Open SpendVault.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Tap Delete All Data.
  4. Confirm the deletion.

This performs a factory reset of the app's data: it wipes the encrypted database and all derived data.

Option B — Delete individual items

  • Delete a single transaction from its detail view.
  • Clear learned patterns or categories from Settings.
  • Export your data first if you want to keep a copy (user-initiated).

2. What gets deleted

When you delete all data, the following are permanently removed from your device:

  • All transactions and parsed records
  • Learned and built-in learned-pattern state
  • Categories, rules, and merchant aliases
  • Budgets, accounts, and widgets configuration
  • The encrypted database and its keys

Nothing is retained on any server — because nothing was ever sent to one.

3. Uninstalling the app

Uninstalling SpendVault from your device also removes all of its local data, since it is stored exclusively within the app's private storage. No further action is required.

4. Request help with deletion

If you are unable to access the app and need help confirming deletion, contact us. Because we do not hold your data, we cannot "delete" anything from a server, but we can assist you with the process:

  • Email: privacy@velozen.online
  • Support: velozen.online/support

5. Google Play Data Safety summary

This summary describes our data practices as required by the Google Play Data Safety policy.

Data collected

  • Financial information — transaction amounts, parsed locally from SMS.
  • Messages — transaction SMS content, read with your permission and stored locally.

Data shared

  • None. No data is shared with third parties.
  • The only optional network use is a cleaned merchant-name token sent to a lookup service, if you enable it — never amounts, accounts, or full SMS.

Data security

  • Data is encrypted at rest with SQLCipher (AES-256).
  • Encryption keys are protected by the Android Keystore.
  • Cloud backup and device transfer are disabled.

Data deletion

  • Users can delete individual transactions or all data from within the app at any time.
  • Uninstalling the app also removes all data.

User controls & permissions

  • Users can revoke READ_SMS / RECEIVE_SMS permissions anytime via Android Settings.
  • Optional features (merchant lookup, crash reporting) can be enabled or disabled in app settings.
  • No account or login is required to use the app.

Independent of these controls, since SpendVault has no server-side data store, there is no account to delete and no remote data to request — your data exists only on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
